ANGLEC Fuel Cost Adjustment
Written by UBR on May 30, 2026
The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. (ANGLEC) advises that the Fuel Surcharge will be adjusted from EC$0.88 to EC$1.04 per kWh. Please note that this adjustment will be reflected on your bills coming out on June 4th, 2026 as charges are applied based on usage for the service period shown on your electric bill.
The last adjustment issued by ANGLEC was on 1st April 2026. The continued rapid rise in fuel prices globally has resulted in the need for another adjustment in a relatively short period of time, due to external factors beyond ANGLEC’s control.
These world events have drastically impacted operational capacities for utilities including ANGLEC impacting electricity generation costs across the board. Despite absorbing a significant portion of increases over the years, the continued escalation in fuel expenses has made it necessary to implement an adjustment at this time. ANGLEC remains committed to minimizing the burden on customers.
The Government of Anguilla has continued to provide a generous contribution to help absorb a portion of the fuel surcharge cost to soften the impact on customers’ bills, even as our operational costs rise. ANGLEC continues to be concerned with the rising cost of fuel globally, which continues to impact our operational cost and the cost of electricity to consumers. Therefore, we encourage all our customers to adopt good energy efficiency and conservation practices, which will help reduce their energy consumption and consequently reduce their electricity bill, as we go through this difficult period of volatile prices of fuel in this current environment.
