Knicks End 53-Year Wait for NBA Championship

The New York Knicks are NBA champions once again.

New York defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 to clinch the NBA Finals series 4-1 and secure the franchise’s first championship since 1973.

The Knicks’ title run was defined by resilience, overcoming double-digit deficits in each of their four victories. Their remarkable comeback ability was on full display throughout the series, including a historic 29-point rally in Game 4—the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Game 5 followed a familiar script. Trailing by 16 points in the second quarter and 10 points early in the fourth, New York mounted another stunning comeback to seal the championship at Frost Bank Center.

Finals MVP Jalen Brunson led the way with a sensational 45-point performance, scoring 15 points in the final quarter to guide the Knicks to victory and end a 53-year championship drought.
